In 2013, KSL Kupferschiefer Lausitz GmbH main activity is working on the Spatial Planning Procedure.

During the project development phase from 2009 to 2012 several articles about the project and its development of the KSL copper deposit near Spremberg are published in journals such as "Journal of Mine Surveying", "World of Mining", and "Bergbau".

From 2010 until the end of 2012 KSL gains detailed insights into the technical conditions of the copper deposit with the drilling and seismic exploration activities, as well as with the further planning, and the creation of several studies and surveys in the field of geology, mineralogy, mining, shaft sinking. Environmental studies and surveys, as well as a model of the deposit are also created.

In September 2012, KSL gives a presentation on the Lusatian copper deposit at the Nature Conservation Station at the water plant in Spremberg.

The application conference for the Spatial Planning Procedure takes place in Cottbus. At a town meeting local people in the region are informed of the proceedings.

From January 2011 to March 2012, the Canadian company AMEC Americas Ltd. is engaged to generate a preliminary pre-feasibility study for KSL.

The preparation for the initiation of the ROV (Spatial Planning Procedure) begins.

From August 2009 to May 2011 SGS Canada Inc. produces the Technical Resource Report (technical report on the deposit Spremberg-Graustein-Schleife) according to the Canadian National Instrument 43-101 standard.

From January to March 2011, the company DMT GmbH Essen executes seismic surveys on the deep subsurface around the towns of Spremberg, Graustein, and Schleife on behalf of KSL. The results of the 3D seismic survey shed light on the structure of the underground copper deposit. Previous insights into the deposit were essentially confirmed. Furthermore, one of the seismic vessels is exhibited on the market square of Spremberg. The inhabitants of Spremberg and the neighborhood are informed of the investigations at two information sessions.

The Saxony Mining Authority grants Minera S.A. an exploitation license with 40 years duration.

Since September 2010, a cooperative agreement with various universities and research institutions such as BTU Cottbus and TU Freiberg begins.

Ending of the drilling in Graustein, drill hole CUSP 131/09

The LBGR, State Office for Mining, Geology, and Minerals of Brandenburg grants Minera S.A. an exploitation license with 40 years duration.

Drilling in Schleife at the CuSP 133/09 drill hole ends. 

The Minister of Economic Affairs of Brandenburg, Ralf Christoffers visits on April 7th the drilling site near Graustein.

Drilling at drill holes CuSp 131/09 and CuSp 133/09 in Graustein and Schleife begins.

KSL Kupferschiefer Lausitz GmbH presents the first drill cores from the exploration drillings.

In Spremberg and Schleife a magnetotelluric geophysical exploration is conducted.

KSL starts the first drill CuSP 136/09 in the industrial area of Spremberg. At an open house at the project site, the population of Spremberg is invited and given the chance to learn about the copper project and visit the drilling tower.

The company KSL Kupferschiefer Lausitz GmbH is founded. The objective  of the company is the exploration, extraction, and processing of copper ore in the deposit at Spremberg, as well as the rehabilitation of the surface, the possession and operation of plant and operating equipment, and the conduction of actions related to the aforementioned activities.
